Thanks, Tom! I did not know this. I’ve watched the movie so many times and never picked up on that. I assumed it was the one from 1977. It kind of destroys what I thought was an interesting concept, that the original probe with its golden record was discovered by an advanced civilization. Since the movie was made in 1979, I always thought it was an ode to that probe. I’m going to have to re-watch it once more. Darn.
