The highest paid public employee is football coach Nick Sabin at $11.5 million a year. Why cherry-pick US Government officials?

First, the article wasn’t about the highest paid public employee, it was about the second highest paid US Government official. Big difference. Nick Saban is paid by the University of Alabama and Alabama taxpayers not federal taxpayers, even though the university says that he’s paid strictly from licensing agreements and ticket sales. Alabama football has been profitable for a long time. And who is cherry-picking? Are US Government officials’ salaries not to be talked about?

The USPS lost that much money because of the way they are required to secure pension funding 50 years into the future. Something no other government entity or private corporation is required to do and unlike private corporations, the USPS requires congressional approval to raise prices.

Agreed, because of the 2006 PAEA passed by Congress. There’s no disputing that, but USPS execs are paid well for a quasi-private entity that needs a reworking of its business model. Would the USPS be profitable even without the prepayments? Close but probably not.

Your conversion to today’s dollars comes from where exactly? Your imagination?

They came from here, but thanks for the sarcasm.
